LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA Sept. 22, 2014 – Diamond Game is proud to launch its Instant Ticket Lottery Machines (ITLMs) in Maryland. Earlier this year, Diamond Game was awarded a 5-year contract with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) to provide Veterans’ Organizations (VOs) with ITLMs and related services. On September 2, 2014, Diamond Game received Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) certification of its new web based local and central accounting system, the games, and the ITLMs for the MLGCA and began installing the ITLMs on September 4, 2014.
Diamond Game will install the first 100 ITLMs across 29 VO locations in the state with each location getting 2 to 5 ITLMs. An additional 60 Diamond Game ITLMs will be installed in more VO locations in October, with a planned third round of installations in early 2015.
The ITLMs provided under the contract are modernized instant ticket vending machines with video animation of the game result to enhance entertainment and bring excitement to the player experience. Diamond Game holds 16 patents related to the unique devices and is recognized in the industry as a true innovator in the field of ticket dispensers. The machines dispense pre-printed, scratch-off lottery tickets and are linked between locations to a robust central system that provides accounting records to the VOs and MLGCA on par with state-of-the-art lottery central systems. Diamond Game is providing a “turn-key” solution to the MLGCA, providing the machines, tickets, central system, and service through a subcontracting agreement with a local Maryland minority business enterprise, Image Power.
Initially, four GLI certified games will be available on the ITLMs: Hot N Saucy, Dynamite Diamonds, American Dream, and Devil 7s. The game software also includes custom modifications including MLGCA logos and Responsible Gaming messaging added to the video content of the 2nd monitor on the ITLM.
The MLGCA installations mark the fourth major North American lottery in which Diamond Game has installed machines in the last two years. Diamond Game has deployed similar ITLMs in Missouri veteran and fraternal clubs through the Missouri Lottery, in Ontario bingo halls with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), and in Quebec bingo halls with Société des bingos du Québec (SBQ). “We are excited to be working with the MLGCA on the ITLM program and we are confident that our product will bring excitement and additional revenue to the Veterans’ Organizations in the state of Maryland,” stated Jim Breslo, Diamond Game President and CEO.
